Good nature trails in Columbia?

Good morning all, hopefully everyone is having a great week thus far and are getting ready for the 4th! Want some suggestions... For the 4th I have a day off and will be staying in Columbia, not planning on making trips. I will be here with my dog and am thinking of possibly going on a hike of some sort with him. Question is, where in or around the Cola area is it a good place to take your pup for the day on some hiking trails or nature walks? I heard that Haribson State Park and Sesquicentennial State Park are good from some people, just have never been to either. Any recommendations?

Appreciate your help!

I enjoyed walking the boardwalk trail in the Congaree National Park. They allow dogs as long as they are on a leash. It's a little south of Cola, but worth a visit imo.

I second Congaree National Park. It's about a 30 minute drive from Columbia, but it's a cool park with some interesting trails.

Peachtree Rock is a decent little place to "hike" too, but it's probably 45 minutes atleast from Columbia.

I say "hike" because I have difficulty considering walking in the SC midlands "hiking".

disclaimer: I know nothing about the dog rules at these places.

lots of trails on the clem5on extension property in NE Columbia, too. Leashed dogs allowed there as well.

It looks like on the 4th you better bring an umbrella/rain jacket. (Although it looks like they've now moved it back)

Cayce Riverwalk if you don't feel like driving out to Congaree (which is an amazing place)

As close to nature as you can probably get in a downtown setting.
