Hopefully I'm wrong but I really doubt Sumlin will hold anybody out for our game.

If he does, they'll be so thin that we'll just ware them down.

Two starters were already released from the team:

Quote:

Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin announced Tuesday that starting linebacker Darian Claiborne and starting defensive tackle Isaiah Golden have been dismissed from the football team.

Claiborne and Golden, who both were expected to play key roles as sophomores this fall on the A&M defense after starting as true freshmen in 2013, were arrested and charged with aggravated robbery Tuesday, according to the College Station Police Department.

According to police, the pair are accused of robbing three male victims at gunpoint on May 23 after the three men agreed to purchase marijuana from Claiborne and Golden.

Who knows what is going to happen to these three. All of them seem special:

Quote:

Texas A&M University wide receiver Edward Pope, defensive lineman Gavin Stansbury, and defensive back Howard Matthews Jr. were arrested on Thursday (April 10, 2014) in College Station, Texas.

The three men were arrested on outstanding warrants after a traffic stop. Pope, who was driving, was pulled over around 11:40 p.m. for an expired registration. Police discovered a warrant when they ran his license. When Pope requested that Stansbury or Matthews be allowed to take the vehicle home instead of it being towed, police discovered that Stansbury had a warrant for his arrest and Matthews was wanted on three warrants.
And I don't know how they are not going to let this guy play:

Quote:

Kenneth Marshall, a freshman defensive back on the Texas A&M football team, was arrested on Tuesday on charges of possession of marijuana and prescription pills, university officials confirmed Thursday morning.

Alan Cannon, associate athletic director for media relations, said Marshall, who redshirted in 2012, has been suspended from all athletic activities in connection with his arrest.

So they should be very thin at defense come August 28th.

Lead for Fulmer Cup?

They need to look at Vandy when recruiting and realize character is as important, if not more than star ratings.

I have not been impressed with Sumlin and how he has run that program. He had 2 good years off of the previous coaches talent. Evans, Manziel, Mathews and Jokell(sp?) were all brought in before he got there. These last 2-3 recruiting classes are filled with trouble makers and have not performed exceptionally well. I guess we will see how he does this year with having a majority being guys recruited by him.

Out of the 15 four star players recruited last year, six are no longer with the program. The below article summarizes that fact and talks about the loss of a 4* OL that is transferring.

Vandy might not be the best example...they're what, the 13th best program in the SEC?

High character recruiting right there!
