Breakout player-2014

Who's it gonna be? Several good candidates out there. Last year it was MD, IMO.

My vote goes to Shaq Roland. Dylan will give him plenty of opportunities to make plays downfield. I see a 50-60 catch, 800-900 yard year for Roland if he catches the ball like he did at the very end of last year.

I couldn't disagree with any of the picks up to this point. I think Shamier would be the surprise breakout. No offense to him, but he has some very good competition that has shown more promise up to now.

Have to agree.

Shamier will be lucky to be a 3rd down guy, IMO.

Larenz's year is next year. Unless we play 2 SPURS, I just don't know where he is going to get on the field with Golightly being solid and Diggs having a fantastic Spring.

C2, was curious to see you listed TJ Gurley on defense.

Truthfully, I was not all that impressed with his play last year. Can only bring a couple moments to mind, but it seemed like he took some bad angles and generally did not seem quick enough for his position.

Wish the best of luck to him and realize he was out there doing his best as a freshman, but is he really better than Elder?

Re: Breakout player-2014

TJ Gurley was coming off an ACL injury from his freshman year. He was a very good player his freshman year all the way up until he hurt his knee against Florida.

Remember when Swearinger was suspended for the Missouri game? TJ stepped in and played a heck of a game.

From all accounts, he is moving just like he was pre-ACL. If this is true then he is going to slide into Brison Williams' Boundary Safety spot and that'll allow Brison to play Corner this year. Which is not the ideal route to take but might be a must if Lammons and Green fail to get into school or take longer to develop than expected when they get here.

Had a couple others in mind for each side of the ball. David Williams on offense, and Gerald Dixon, Jordan Diggs, and TJ Gurley on defense.

Is there a good chance Green and Lammons don't make it in?

Re: Breakout player-2014

Offense: Busta Anderson

I say him as more of a bounce back player. Last year did not go as planned for him and I think he'll be more involved this year.

Defense: Chaz Elder

He improved over the course of last year. Much more comfortable with him than Marcus or Gurley. Underrated in terms of importance this year.

Re: Breakout player-2014

Offense: Cooper (looking for him to be a more polished WR)
Defense: Surratt (been a role playing, looking for him to lead the line)

Re: Breakout player-2014

We better hope for atleast 2 of English, Dixon, Johnson, Harris, or Cooper.

And 2 or 3 CBs. Out of Rico, Jamari, Groves, Lammons, Green, Harris, or Smith.

My breakout players are Johnson and Jamari.

Either Albert Ashcraft or Taqiy Muhammed.

Darius English.

Guy is going to have to step up to fill our pass rushing void and from everything I've read on him (hoping it's not all just rumors) he's been preparing himself for a great year. Keep packing on the strength and keep getting better DE!
