P&C Article (Top 4 Playoff since AP Poll)?

Interesting read in Charleston P&C this morning.

http://www.postandcourier.com/articl...lace-all-along

Shows who would have made the playoff according to AP poll then BCS since 1936 if the 4 team playoff had always been around.

Stats below.
1 - Oklahoma - 30
2 - Bama - 23
3 - Ohio St - 19
4 - ND - 16
4 - Texas - 16
6 - Miami - 13
7 - FSU - 12
7 - Nebraska - 12
7 - Southern Cal - 12
10 - Tennessee - 10
11 - Penn St - 8
11 - UGA - 8
11 - LSU - 8
11 - Mich St - 8
15- Florida - 7
16 - Auburn - 6
17 - Pitt - 5
17 - Iowa - 5
17 - Navy - 5
17 - Army - 5
21 - Cal - 4
21 - GT - 4
21 - Maryland - 4
21 - Colorado - 4
25 - Arkansas - 3
25 - Ole Miss - 3
25 - Texas A&M - 3
25 - Washington - 3
25 - Illinois - 3
25 - UCLA - 3
25 - Stanford - 3
25 - Oregon - 3
25 - Minnesota - 3
25 - TCU - 3

2 - Duke, Wisconsin, VT, Indiana, SMU, Syracuse, WVU
1 - Clemson, Northwestern, Ok St, BYU, UNC, Arz St, KSt., Cincy

The rest are not relevant in today's CFB landscape.

Surprised Clemson only has 1 for as much as they preach history to you all!

Maybe you get your first notch on the belt this year when it really matters?

Vols second in the SEC in another category...hope we can get it turned around soon!

You can tell it is off season. Reporters are spending there time with "what if" scenarios that have no bearing on yesterday, today, or tomorrow.

We should have 1 on there ourselves....The year we farted up a game at The Naval Academy we were the best team in the country that year....We would have beaten the crap out of BYU and Nebraska for sure...

Still doesn't make it any less interesting.

You left Michigan off

quick scan 14 times, but my eyes are tired today.

Yeah. I was about to point out that Michigan was left off the list. Have to imagine one of the two or three winningest teams in football history would've qualified for a handful of playoffs...

So, the list is inaccurate and UTjr still sucks at football. Good thread Vol.

I would agree with you except for our loss to Oklahoma State in the gator Bowl that year.

15 is right, I had them on my list on paper but missed em when I typed it out. They'd fall right behind Texas and ND.

Kind of would think they'd be up higher since they have the most wins. I guess a lot of their wins came before 1936 though.
