Steve Pearce, 4 hits!

He is raking right now! Batting .340. Is he trying to make a run at the AL Batting title?

Shook his hand after the rain delay game against the Sox last week.

Re: Steve Pearce, 4 hits!

He only has 174 plate appearances this year. To qualify for a batting title you must have 3.1 plate appearances per team game, meaning you need 501 plate appearances for the year. The Orioles have played 85 games, meaning that they have 77 left. He needs 327 plate appearances in those 77 games so that would be an average of 4.25 per game and that's not gonna happen. So no, he will not be able to win a batting title no matter what his average is

The MLB hates us.

Pearce is the co-player of the week in the American League along with teammate Adam Jones. Congrats Steve!
