Fall Camp Scrimmage Stats

I know it's only scrimmages in practice, and oftentimes the youngsters will get more playing time for the coaches to see how the depth charts will fill out, but it's still good to see how the players have performed in the scrimmages. No idea if the 1st teams are going against 2nd teams and vice versa, etc.

Looks like they gave Davis the day off again, good to hear. I think a lot of teams have forgotten what a fresh/healthy mike davis can do, if wilds can stay healthy look out.

Coach Spurrier said Mike Davis took a helmet to the hip so he was pulled for the day. Nothing serious but didn't want to take chances.

He also said Perry Orth went 3-6 and the incompletions were drops. He said if they needed a sub for Dylan today then it would probably be Orth. Wow!

Maybe he's trying to light a fire under Mitch, aside from the int looks like he had an okay day.

I'll say it....when i first read i thought the first stats were from today....and we had another debacle in the running game.

Glad to see the pickup.

Spurrier really likes Scarnecchia too. Said he hopes he can redshirt him this season and then he can come back and compete for starting job next year.

Connor Mitch had hardly any opportunities to throw the ball today. There was a reason for that. Orth is good, but come on. Mitch is on another level. He doesn't get to throw it 13 times because he doesn't need to. He was 6-9 pretty good completion percentage. Plus his only INT came when the receiver couldn't catch it and it was up for grabs off his chest. Also Deebo looks damn good, he is going to be a great receiver for us.

Re: Fall Camp Scrimmage Stats

One thing that should be noted is that they don't allow for hard QB sacks in these things, so it's more flag-football touches that are counted as sacks. I don't know if the QBs would've gotten out of those sack situations in real game conditions, but perhaps a few times they might've.

But as for last Saturday's stats - you take out the QB's minus yardage from all those sacks on Mitch, Orth, and Scarnecchia, and the RBs ran 17 times for 34 yds. Still not great at all, but better than 24 times for only 1 yd lol. Today's stats show that minus those sacks, the RBs ran 22 times for 131 yds, or for 6 yds per carry. Much better showing by the OL and RBs today...
