Don Pardo dead at 96
NEW YORK (AP) — Few would recognize his face, but most would know his voice: that booming baritone that for nearly four decades would introduce the lineups on "Saturday Night Live."
Don Pardo, the durable television and radio announcer whose resonant voice-over style was widely imitated and became the standard in the field, died Monday in Arizona at the age of 96. http://news.msn.com/pop-culture/long...o-dies-at-96-1 |
Re: Don Pardo dead at 96
He was a staple at NBC. He and Bob Hope had the only lifetime contracts given by the network!
Really going to miss that intro to SNL. Rest in Peace, Mr Pardo! |

Re: Don Pardo dead at 96
96 years is a hell of a run. His voice is a integral part of the history of television...if not society as a whole...if not America itself.
You could here him say almost anything and immediately know who it was. Truly a hall of famer! |
