ENGLEWOOD, Colo. – Outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney had a productive practice against the Broncos, but he left with about 35 minutes remaining with an undisclosed injury.

It didn’t seem to be serious based on the way he was walking to the Texans’ tent in the end zone.

Clowney looked good in one-on-one drills and team drills, but he walked slowly to the team tent, took off his shoulder pads and spent the rest of practice sitting on the trainers’ table and watching from the end zone.
When practice ending, reporters tried to interview Clowney, but he retreated to the team bus.

Coach Bill O’Brien was asked what happened to his first-round draft choice.
“I don’t know yet,” he said. “I was in the middle of practice, so I haven’t found out.”

Clowney has been brought along slowly since undergoing surgery in June to repair a sports hernia. He hasn’t played much in the two preseason games against Arizona and Atlanta, but he’s made three big plays. His status for Saturday’s game against Denver is undetermined. This isn’t the first time he’s left a practice with a sore groin.

“We were playing aggressively, and he was a part of that,” O’Brien said about Clowney’s performance before he left practice.

Seems like he impressed a lot of people in practice.

Quote:

Just ask Ryan Clady, the Broncos‘ left tackle who was charged with keeping Clowney away from Peyton Manning during Tuesday’s joint practice with the Houston Texans at the Broncos’ Dove Valley training complex.
“He’s gonna be in this league for a while,” Clady said. “He’s definitely got some explosiveness, and I can see why he was the first overall pick for sure. It shows. It’s just how fast he can move at his size. Not a lot of guys can do that and he’s obviously gonna have success in this league with that kind of talent.”
