Greetings from ECU Fan

Greetings Gamecock Fans from an ECU Pirates fan. New to this board. Looking forward to coming back down to Columbia for the game on Sept. 6. It has been awhile since a visit to Williams-Brice, mid 1990's, so I imagine things are quite different now. Last time, the fairgrounds was a good place to park. Is that still the case? If not, where are the best locations for parking. Also, since our hotel is close to campus, was wondering if fans just walk from there to the stadium. And since the game is at night, is it safe? Any information someone can provide with this and what attractions around the stadium to visit will be helpful. Hope you guys have a successful season.

From downtown you can catch a shuttle from the Colonial Life Arena and that would eliminate you having to park but would also mess up your tailgaiting. The fairgrounds are now pretty much for Gamecock Club members but I think you might be able to get something there if you are super early. The area that use to be the Farmer's Market is a really good place but I think that is pretty much similar to the fair ground parking problem mentioned above. If you want to do something like eat or bar hop, you need to do that downtown, The Vista, where there is lots to choose from. There is slim pickings around the stadium(maybe one day that will change). Hope you have a good time except for the outcome of the game. I have always liked ECU fans because they always seem to hate UNC almost as much as real Carolina fans do. You can still find places to park outside the 2 places above but that might depend on where your seats are and how far you want or don't want to walk.

It is totally safe. As safe as any huge, gigantic, wonderful party. Knowing how Greenville can party, I expect you to have a really fine time.

She went to ECU.

There's a few things I've been meaning to do with her over the years, but I never seem to be able to get our schedules synched up.

Which hotel are you staying in? If you're in the Vista or on Main Street, the stadium will be 1 /2 to 2 miles. It's walkable, but there's a short section on Assembly Street that doesn't have sidewalks. You shouldn't have any safety concerns as long as you watch out for traffic. If you have a lot of accoutrements that you're bringing then I would take the shuttle or drive and park in the public Fairgrounds lot. Also, if it will be especially hot you may not want to walk.

She's the hottest 50 year old ever. I don't know whose blood she bathes in, but she should keep doing it.

I wish I was able to make this trip but I will have to settle for tv. Playing SC will be a real tough test but I expect to give you guys a better game than the last time we played. Ill be watching your game against A&M and you can catch our opening game on espn news. Best of luck this season and I hope for an injury free game and a pirate victory.
