Nice, although Skai Moore could play any LB position.

I thought Gurley looked about as good as anyone in the secondary, happy to see him start

I was more or less fine with the "starters" it was the personnel we used in certain packages.

-using English and Harris as 3-4 ends instead of Dixon and Johnson and Dixon north as a DT.

Glad to see Gurley in there. He had some good plays. I think he can step it up

A little disappointed in Elder, even though it has only been one game. Headed into the season, it was figured he had one of the spots locked down IMHO and thought this would be his break through season and live up to the hype he had coming out of HS.

No doubt, that matches my excitement. That guy wants to play. He is a good one. Whammy did seem confident that he would start ahead of English. I know that won't answer our entirety of defensive questions, but it's a start. #55 has something to prove

Mcwilliams isn't aggressive enough to be a starter. I would stick with Harris or Lammons the true freshmen both are better then Mcwilliams.

That could be said for the whole Defense. However, he didn't start the game due to him missing treatment on his shoulder.

I think he didn't start for not reporting an injured shoulder. He did play a series later though.

Edit
Hah knew it had to do with the shoulder at least.

He got pretty beat up against TAMU...had to come out of the game twice I think in the 1st half alone with injuries.

In any case, IMO the shuffle in the starting lineup is just Ward's way of trying to come up with an effective unit. The 2-deep - regardless of who starts over who - will play a ton all around Saturday....

Didn't start. Had a "late night" that monday and missed his rehab/checkup for his shoulder the following morning.

Seems to be a theme with this year's team. Sigh.
