Re: Ward breaks down DE position

I knew this was going to happen when we were on a roll because not even Notre Dame or Alabama wins the Nat Championship every year.
Please move on with your life and stop the fixation on coach...

Re: Ward breaks down DE position

This added weight has reduced his effectiveness.
I got the impression from Ward's statements that they are going to let English show up weighing at whatever weight he feels comfortable with. I...

Re: Ward breaks down DE position

He came in as a Frosh at 225. If Ward was being accurate when he said English has gained 40 lbs then he is 265lbs now. He was listed at 245lbs last season. Are any of these weights accurate? I doubt...

Re: Ward breaks down DE position

the speedy DL who you will see improve the D next year were recruited under Ward's watch.

Re: Ward breaks down DE position

Ward's DL will have big guys who can run in 2015. He had no DLs last year who could run.
Despite this lack of speed and a maligned defense he still managed to keep player morale high and finish 3-1...

Re: Three Gamecocks redshirts to watch

We played two frosh CBs. Al Harris weighed 162lbs. Chris Lammons weighed 172 lbs. We were playing the lightest CBs in the SEC. A CB that weighed 170 lb was considered too light to play back in the...

Re: Nosovitch back at QB per Spurrier

Both times are faster than Lattimore's. A good runner is a good runner.

Re: Nosovitch back at QB per Spurrier

Nah. I saw you mention it. Several people were discussing Noso with you.
Why should anybody be surprised if Spurrier gets everybody in town that was ever a QB to show up for a test drive? The QB job...

Re: An early look at South Carolina’s 2015 QB battle

Read way back. You missed something.
And no. Neither source was reputable.

Re: ESPN Offensive Unit Ranking Average

We lost two of our 5 projected starters on the OL early on. Fortunately we had backups that came through for us late in the year and we finished winning 3 outta last four games. The teams that win...

Re: An early look at South Carolina’s 2015 QB battle

IF this is true then we have heard this about both Mitch and Orth which is why some think the next QB isn't on the team yet.

Re: An early look at South Carolina’s 2015 QB battle

We should see an accelerated learning curve for one of the QBs in Spring that we haven't seen so far because there was no spotlight on the backups last year. DT was a done deal.
Remember before...

Re: ESPN Offensive Unit Ranking Average

Why are the numbers reversed? What's the scale. Not sure how anyone can rank an offense when nobody knows who the QB will be.

Re: Top 5 priorities for spring practice

We had a great deal to lose by doing that. Instead the coaches and players stayed focused and won 3 of the last 4 including the bowl game that set a record for most straight bowl wins in school...

Re: Top 5 priorities for spring practice

Ive watched English a lot. We didn't have a good DL last year and he was one of the least effective players on DL. It is mind boggling to me why English hasn't made a contribution. He was better as a...

Re: Top 5 priorities for spring practice

Football in the big 5 conferences has chsnged a lot in the last 10 years. Can even a really talented Freshman QB come in and start in todays world? I gotta wonder if it's possible.

Re: Top 5 priorities for spring practice

D Johnson was projected to play in the bowl but did not. He will play a lot in 2015.
I can't see English getting playing time next year at all. He is a Tweener- not a LB and not a lineman. He...

Re: Top 5 priorities for spring practice

Absolutely key to USCs winning success especially under Connor Shaw was the keep turnovers to a minimum. If a QB throws Ints hes coming out. Turnovers spell defeat. Spurrier has said that the team...

Re: Top 5 priorities for spring practice

I agree it is unlikely Noso ever plays at QB again but Ive seen strange things happen because of injuries. Last year we had a WR playing some QB for the 49ers in practice because of injuries to their...

Re: Top 5 priorities for spring practice

Wow. So Mitch has it in the bag?
The QB job at USC is totally wide open. We are in an in-between time. Things will happen but they haven't happened yet. Noso is not out.
If you are a QB at USC you...

Re: Top 5 priorities for spring practice

There are many levels in college. Benedict College football is above high school. SEC is closer to the NFL than high school.

Re: Top 5 priorities for spring practice

The defense improved in the late season winning 3 of 4 games. I was very proud of the strong finish the 2014 team achieved.
The D went to a bowl and shut down the leading rusher in Hurricane history.

Re: 2015 offense major improvement...

They broke the school passing record last year. I can't agree with your surmise when we are fresh off a record setting season.

Re: Top 5 priorities for spring practice

I don't see the QB situation being solved in the Spring. Maybe we can pick the backup QB in Spring.
I don't think we have a starting QB on the team yet.
