Re: JBJ called up for Victorino (15-day DL)

JBJ caught a fly and threw out the runner tagging from 2nd at 3rd before Beltran scored from 3rd to end the inning - sweet double play to prevent the run from scoring.

Next half inning he tags a...

Re: 2014 Atlanta Braves Season Thread

Agreed, but if that happened during a 3-game span in the middle of July, it might not even be noticeable. He did have a super hot April last year, so hopefully he turns it on against the Nats.

Re: 2014 Atlanta Braves Season Thread

I'd argue that Uggla is already showing signs of improvement. 3-4 of his outs have been on murdered balls, just to the wrong spot. I worry when he is popping them up on the infield - haven't seen...

JBJ called up for Victorino (15-day DL)

Watching Braves game and noticed that on the ticker. I hope he can find his swing at that level and give cause for another stint when the time comes again this year.

Exciting time of year - but Spring Training was a buzz kill. I have faith.

Re: Contact lost with plane carrying 239 people (Malaysia to Beijing)

I'm on board with that dude's explanation.

Whatever came of the eyewitness that saw a plane on fire? Maybe someone working an oil rig? Assume that was vetted and disregarded? Haven't heard about...

Re: Contact lost with plane carrying 239 people (Malaysia to Beijing)

While it is plausible, I would think that some radar from a non-Al Qaeda friendly area would have picked up on the plane and reported it - or satellite images of the plane where it landed and was...

Re: Contact lost with plane carrying 239 people (Malaysia to Beijing)

My thoughts exactly. The only explanation in my mind is an unintended accident thereafter (by the pilot) or someone's intervention along the way (passenger or crew).

Re: Contact lost with plane carrying 239 people (Malaysia to Beijing)

Keeps pointing to an Indian Ocean crash... although doesn't help to explain motive. If it was a deliberate sabotage, why not do it quicker?

Re: Contact lost with plane carrying 239 people (Malaysia to Beijing)

While I'd like to believe that they flew under the radar (most likely scenario where they'd be alive), I'm reading that this is extremely unlikely/tough to do in a 777.

I'm with you on that - and I'm obsessed with following the story. Very intriguing.

Re: Contact lost with plane carrying 239 people (Malaysia to Beijing)

Not necessarily. I think it was a forceful cockpit hijacking and whatever electrical equipment that sends the signals were compromised prior to the pilots having the time to send any distress signal....
