Re: Alan Knott=beast

Great shotgun snaps, but didn't think Knott was all that good blocking wise. Cann and Robinson on the other hand were mauling people in the run game.

Re: **USC vs. Georgia GAME Thread**

Will never understand why you don't go 5-wide on short yardage.

Not like those 3 TEs are going to affect a QB sneak... SO dumb.

Re: Defense making adjustments

No question defense was the main problem, but offense wasn't exactly great. 4 scores in 11 drives against (what appears to be) a mediocre A&M defense? And needed the help of multiple PI calls bailing...

Re: Whiskey QB 2014

McEvoy is a hell of an athlete, but not much of a QB. He looked pretty terrible passing, granted, his receivers didn't give him much to work with against LSU's secondary.

It'll be interesting to...

Re: Connor Shaw Browns

E.J. Manuel, whoever Oakland's QB ends up being (Schaub), Ryan Fitzpatrick, Geno Smith, Shaun Hill (Rams), Bryan Hoyer, Matt Cassell, Jake Locker, Josh McCown, Chad Henne.

That's 10 starting QBs...

Re: Predict the Season (After Game 1)

Defense looks bad, but few teams on the schedule have the offensive firepower that A&M does. Those teams are Georgia, Auburn, and Clemson, and hopefully the D will have improved by those games.

Re: Connor Shaw Browns

Ryan Tannehill isn't even close to being a bottom 3 QB... He's really good. Not even going to touch the Russell Wilson comparison. Shaw was good at SC, but Wilson is a top 5-10 QB in the NFL.

Re: Who else wants to see Connor Mitch play significant snaps against ECU?

Give Connor Mitch snaps doesn't necessarily mean bench Thompson.

Why not rotate Mitch in every couple of series like Spurrier did with Dylan at times last season?

Re: How did Clowney do?

Clowney looked good (as expected) rushing the passer. But can't believe how often he dropped into coverage. I can understand dropping him every so often, but you don't draft a guy like Clowney to...

Re: New Offense

Fun N Gun or any passing offense for that matter works as long as you have a good QB. Granted, QB play in college football is generally pretty bad - just look around the SEC the past few years.

Re: COCKYTALK SPRING PRACTICE REPORT: 4/3/14

Yates hasn't been on the team since the 2012 season. I thought Ard was ok last year with kickoffs - that is, when the ball didn't go out of bounds as it did seemingly every third kick.

Re: Do you think Shaq leaves after this upcoming season?

Ace and Bruce left early despite projections as mid-late round picks. Roland is likely a better prospect than either. Barring major injury, likely that he leaves.

Re: 2016 - Brandon McIlwain

IMO this guy's freshman highlights are more impressive than the junior highlights of either of the two 2015 QB offers (Wimbush and L. Jackson), granted it's a little tough to compare with different...

Re: 2016 - Brandon McIlwain

Is there any 2013 video for this guy out there? Just seeing 2012 stuff.

Impressive athlete. Curious what that means for McCall, who also looks like he's going to be really good.

Re: 2014 Projected Depth Chart

While Dixon can certainly set the edge, he didn't show very much ability to bend the edge. With Clowney on the other side and teams running at Sutton/Dixon 80% of the time, the move made a lot of...

Re: Discussion: Def End and 2015

Yep ^. The top 4 guys at least all play with how much Adams (and Lawing before him) likes to rotate on the DL. Not to mention Wideman could potentially be a DT long term.

Re: Discussion: The Star Conundrum

A little too much emphasis is put on the ~30 5* guys. Bama isn't just getting 5 or 6 of them, but also 15+ 4-star guys. Their lowest rated commit this year is a kicker, the next lowest rated a Juco...

Re: CockyTalk's 2014 National Signing Day Discussion Thread

That's a pretty big stretch, IMO. Against Clemson he had about 3 should've been interceptions and threw another 2 or 3 into the dirt.

He played very well (and clutch) for a guy in his first...

Re: CockyTalk's 2014 National Signing Day Discussion Thread

QB recruiting and development is the great equalizer. It's not everything, obviously, but a good one can mask talent deficiencies elsewhere, while a bad one will hold back even the most stacked...

Re: Jadeveon Clowney tops Ultimate ESPN 300 list.

Considering they had him ranked 2nd in the entire 2009 class and he had a very good college career, it's not a stretch at all.

Re: 2014 - Bo Baldwin

He'd definitely be the most physically talented QB on the roster if he goes to SC. Perfect project QB and even better that you can (hopefully) get him as a walk-on.

Re: 2015 - Brandon Wimbush

Watching his junior highlights, it's impressive how many throws he steps into with a pass rusher right in his face. Big time trait for a QB.

Re: 2015- Brandon Wimbush QB

Assuming they go all in on this guy, at least they've hedged to some extent with K. Bryant and Kevin Johnson with offers as athletes that could become offers at QB at some point (that's my...
