Re: Kansas to invest $75 millions in soccer

No doubt. We tried to get behind the Inferno, they actually did a pretty good job... and that's for a sport that nobody plays. Junior Soccer leagues out here are HUGE! Give these kids an outlet to...

Re: Kansas to invest $75 millions in soccer

Baseball fans can get their fix cheering on the Gamecocks in a first class stadium already. We don't need a minor league baseball team, we already have one. Go Cocks!

Re: Places To Eat In Beufort

I was not impressed with Dockside Lady's Island. I must have had the wrong dish. I believe I had the stuffed flounder. It was ok, nothing to get excited about, and I was hungry!

Re: Kansas to invest $75 millions in soccer

Smart move, they are liable to own this sport. I wish Columbia would consider scrapping the minor league baseball park downtown and consider putting in a nice soccer stadium.

Re: Sidney Rice Retiring From NFL

I don't blame him given all his injuries. Seems like he's spent the last 7 years recovering from injury. That's a crappy, albeit well paying, job. Hopefully he doesn't have too many long term issues....

Re: Perry Dozier Jr. (2015 Prospect)

He's a Gamecock through and through, if we lose him, that will be a hard one to swallow.

Re: new FIFA rankings

Just like any top sport, the top 4 or 5 are elite, then the top 20 thru 4 or 5 are notch or two below... then everyone else. Exact rankings outside of the group are really meaningless unless they are...

Re: COCKYTALK ONE HIT WONDER TOURNAMENT: Nominations (Round 2)

I had this CD, this was the first song I ever learned on the guitar...

It was one of my favorite CD's.

Re: Messi vs Germany

If I'm a team owner, I take Ronaldo. If I want to win a game, it's a toss up with Messi. Not sure how Messi straps the ball to his ankles and runs through everybody as he does, but it's impressive....

Re: China to build canal in Nicaragua

In a conflict nobody cares who owns what, you take what you need to win. This is an economic consideration, without a doubt.

Re: Does anyone manage people?

Managing Large Groups: I've managed multiple people the majority of my life, from 2-80 in various types of work. I've found an effective way to handle larger groups is to somehow try to pair/team...

I'm surprised that we don't have more push from the networks about the CONCACAF Champions Cup. Pitting our nation against other nations might actually drum up a little excitement. Would be surprised...

Re: 10 Most loyal fanbases? We're number......

That's the beautiful thing about college athletics, all major programs have a loyal following. Some are larger than others, but the loyalty tends to run deep. All successful programs will have a...

Re: Shaw Interview: SB Nation - Browns

It's difficult to put a quantitative number on how much better one is at passing than another. I would agree with cola though, RW is a significantly better passer than Shaw. Other skills may be on...

Re: Official World Cup 2014 Thread

Incorrect. Ronaldo scored. I don't know diddly about this game, just learning, but physically Ronaldo appears to be the most gifted. Messi seems to be a much better all around player. But Ronaldo is...

Re: Official World Cup 2014 Thread

Little warning about the eagle-rection spewing patriotism would have been nice.

Funny thing is we have a tendency to produce top tier GK's already. I'm sticking with Deion, no man on this planet...

Re: Talent Level In Professional Soccer?

Trying to predict a productive attacking player from another sport would be impossible. That position seems to be instinctive as much as anything else, obviously skill must be extremely high as well....

Re: Talent Level In Professional Soccer?

Yes. I've spoken with more than one person trying to get in on the action (including myself). Mark it down, Soccer stock is going through the roof.

Re: Talent Level In Professional Soccer?

I might be wrong, but given LeBron's size and explosiveness, wouldn't goalkeeper be his more natural soccer position? He is more than likely too big to play the field unless he were maybe a center...
