I think you answered your own question. The Red Sox are going to have to be VERY lucky to even compete in the AL East. As much as I love Bradley (my favorite Gamecock along with Smoak), it just doesn't make much sense to bring him up and waste a year before he hits FA because he won't make enough of a difference to win the division.
