To answer OP's question, I would fly.
If you drive, let's say by the time you get luggage to your rental car and check out...you aren't leaving Atlanta until 2pm at best. That puts you in Columbia around 5ish if you don't stop. Then you have to navigate to stadium in traffic and find parking. You could very likely have an issue or two that prevents you from getting their on time for kickoff.
If you fly, you arrive in Columbia at the airport around 4:30 and can arrange for a cab to be waiting on you. He should be able to drop you off at the stadium within 1.5 hours. That eliminates time needed to park and will cancel out the cost of a parking by taking cab.
I guess if you have luggage, then that changes a lot...as you are probably wanting to fly into Columbia AND then drive to stadium. Which, I would still consider.
...then again, there is that whole "delay" thing with airplanes that you can't control. If I am flying all of that distance, I wouldn't chance it.
Drive or shift your flights around.
