I don't want my Dlinemen chasing the ball, I want them playing their assignment and making plays when it is their play to make.
I have a feeling Adams called for Clowney to drop into coverage on third down last night, and Spurrier gave him the ole "What the hell are you thinking?"
No coincidence, next third down Clowney got the QB.
I'm not ready to fire Deke (I at least want to give him a shot) but I'd say right now, his job is not secure next season.
Sure there has been a drop in talent from what Lawing had, but lane assignment and fundamentals have dropped off this year, and I think you have to put some of that on Adams.
I think it is clear the Linebackers and Defensive Linemen are not on the same page, as evidenced by the issues on the sideline between Adams and Botkins. Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't their assignments linked? I think this is a chemistry thing that will improve over time, not an issue with either coach personally.
I may be wrong, but that is my opinion.
