Our best years ever under Spurrier and we've yet to generate a marquee recruiting name for ourselves. Yes we've gotten some monster instate guys, but how friggin rare is that every year?
I know, I know, we'll never be BIG TIME like Bama, Georgia, Auburn, TAMU, Florida, LSU, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Texas, FSU, Ohio State, Oregon, So Cal, Michigan, Miami, Stanford, yadda yadda yadda, but damn. We continue to get poached, and rarely are the poacher. Clemson continues to out recruit us--which is paying off for them. And we still don't get looks from the majority of 4-5 star guys.
Once Spurrier retires, I see a steep decline in our ability to attract great recruits. I shudder at the thought of what we'll become post-Spurrier.
