Impossible to say w/o knowing who replaces him. If it's a dogged recruiter-type than it could lessen the blow. Spurrier himself doesn't do much of the personal recruiting now, anyway. He's involved w/ high end targets and then is a "Closer" of sorts (if my understanding is correct).
Hell it might get better. Steve has never been the ace recruiter that a lot of other coaches. The best recruiting teams in the SEC (Bama/Saban, LSU/Miles, Florida/Muschamp, Georgia/Richt) are all good recruiters. It also helps that they have AMAZING asst. coaches that are amazing recruiters. Larry Porter, Kirby Smart, Travaris Robinson, DJ Durkin, Sal Sunseri etc.
It also helps to have something to sell, and a trophy room.
