If the majority of people involved assume that they are adequately prepared for an opponent that would otherwise be understood as a lesser quality team, then the fallacy of total cooperation of the team may lead some members to take plays off.
This misunderstanding would provoke a heightened awareness among the prepared members, thus eliciting a response from said members to remind the ill-prepared members of the potential of a sleeper game.
