this isnt related necessarily related to the nickel defense since it was 2nd and 1, but if we dont make better calls, guys dont start playing with better instincts or make smarter decisions then it wont matter what the personnel is.
here we come out with a 3 down line with chaz standing up on the end. on the snap, chaz releases to cover the flat and we rush 3. the tight end chips clowney and releases to the flat and the rb gives a semi chip on other outside rusher and releases to the flat. holloman picks up the tight end, sutton is in perfect position to cover the rb yet the other lb bites extremely hard on the rb despite sutton already being in that area and the qb not looking in that direction whatsoever.
dont know if brison, golightly, or the other backer was at fault or all 3, but basically both of their wide receivers on the left side of the formation ran 10-15 yard routes into the middle of the field and likely either one of them would have scored on that play. which is inexcusable with an 18 point lead.
