zero sum games
If we played a game where one hundred pennies were on the table, that is a zero sum game.
Life is not like that.
Life is not a game.
I may take those hundred pennies from you today, but truly there is no limit to my worth, or yours.
Football is a paradigm, a milieu, a culture, a slice of life, especially, thankfully, at the college level.
I have grown children of which one, the baby, now attends Georgia. All my wife and I hope for her is to enjoy life as she earns it.
You may not have children but certainly you were one once yourself, do you remember?
Well, our Gamecock athletes are young men and young women, someones' children, who proudly attend a very fine university, and it would behoove us to keep that in mind.
God knows, I am forgetful with misplaced passion, far too often.
These are all young people we care about.
I like apples as much as oranges and don't care which for quarterback of a game, just a game.
Are they good people? Got effort? Good attitude?
We win, either way, no matter the scoreboard, because all of these men and women are our countrymen, our fellows, our future.
They ain't kids. They are young people. They require encouragement to succeed.
Sorry for preachin, Go Cocks!
