To add to your points about Vic Hampton, I think he is trying to be too selfish and is just going for picks... INTs are nice but Vic jumps routes and gets burned it comprises the rest of the TEAM defense then he ends up looking like a schmuck.
He needs to understand it isn't all about INT. It is about fundamentals, understanding schemes, and tackling. Look at a guy in the NFL like Nnamdi Asomuguah (sp?); he wasn't know for all of his picks, rather he was known as a guy who would blanket a receiver and the opposing offense would only throw his way a few times a game.
I want Vic to understand this and be a blanket to a receiver. Once he does that and learns to shut down a defender, then the picks will come. He seems too impatient in coverage. Another year in college would greatly benefit him, but I don't know if that is going to happen.
A lot of that could be about the coaches constantly harping the D on getting turnovers. He is trying to make a play and be aggressive. Teams are exploiting the aggressiveness. He is going to have to tone it down from here on out because I see the double move in his future in every game we have left.
