He was responding to the media, which kept asking, repeatedly, "Is it frustrating for you to watch the offense build up a big lead, and then the defense gives up a bunch of points." etc.
Stupid media. Always trying to create controversy so they have an "interesting" story with a conflict.
That is not journalism. That is more selfish than Hampton playing agressive trying to generate a turnover.
