What drives me nuts is that we have done all this and yet...
NOT ONCE HAVE WE LEFT OUR FOOT ON THE GAS!!!
I know Coach Spurrier likes the Stoops family, but come on, Coach!
Mike Davis should be getting 30 carries per game. He can wear down a team like nobody's business, and once they get worn down, he'll toast them with a 75-yard run. Then, you can pass all day because our opponent has to commit to defending the run, and they are gassed.
We keep emphasizing the pass well before we wear them down. That is a strategic mistake we need to cure.
It seems like as soon as we get into the 30-point range, we take our damn foot off the gas, over and over again. It makes us look like we are struggling with teams that we really are manhandling.
I want to see other teams' defensive lineman with their hands on their hips and their heads tilted back as they gasp for air, knowing full well that the Tasmanian Devil is about to twist and turn his way to a jailbreak touchdown of 75 freaking yards!
Give him 30 carries over and over again, and I bet he'll cut loose on two of those in the same game!
