Sorry it's taken so long. Work has been booming this week ... which isn't a bad thing. This will be a short and sweet post, just to get it out there.
There were a couple of good individual peformances, but again, there were some really bad ones at times as well.
THIS WEEK'S CACK'S TOAST OF THE GAME ... AGAINST KENTUCKY IS ... JT SURRATT
JT, finished with 6 tackles, but it seemed like every time he was making a tackle it was on a big play. The past few weeks, he's gotten a lot of heat on the QB's and have swallowed up the HBs before they could get to the 2nd level. I expect we'll see a lot more of Surratt on the field in the upcoming weeks.
Another 100 yard game, and 2 more TDs. If he doesn't watch out, we may be talking about Mike Davis beating Marcus' TD records.
When we needed a big play on Offense, Connor was making a big pass or scrambling for a big pick up on the ground.
I wish he would have gotten the eye surgery a lot earlier in his career, because Damiere has really shown what kind of a weapon he can be when he can see and catch the ball. Another home run ball this week is the proof.
To be a Freshman, Fry is extremely reliable. The kicking game was a HUGE concern coming into the season, and I expected it to cost us a game. However, Fry has came in and hit everything he's attempted. He's already knocking down 40 yard field goals, so imagine what he can do if he eats a sandwich?
1st Half Defense:
Everyone is being very hard on our Defensive guys, but I don't think it's all justified. We've played very well in the first half the past few weeks, but once teams have made adjustments we've started to fall a bit. If this group can take what they do in the first half and build on it. I think we'll start to see improvements.
EVERYONE RAISE YOUR GLASS ... HERE'S TO YOU JT SURRATT
Week 1 - Offensive Line
Week 2 - Mike Davis
Week 3 - The Receivers
Week 4 - Mike Davis
Week 5 - JT Surratt
