Double Standard in Rating Teams...
We know this has been the case for decades, however RARELY is it ever as evident as right now in the ACC. You have ONE TEAM, Clemson...and perhaps Florida State who are given top rankings despite the fact that they play a cupcake schedule (Clemson more so that Florida State) and then you look within their own division at Virginia Tech who's ONLY LOSS is to NUMBER ONE ALABAMA and Virginia Tech can barely crack the top 25.
If Clemson loses to Florida State next Saturday (which I pray they do) they'll STILL probably outrank us and probably Va Tech as well and WHY? With their SOS they should not be up there anymore moreso that Va Tech.
Tech's defense is better.
Clemson gets more mileage out of less of a schedule than any team in football. A few years ago Boise State couldn't buy rankings and they're schedule was no weaker than Clemson's now.
They won in a shoot out with Georgia and so far that is ALL they've played...period. They've gotten their slightly more difficult games at home and just yesterday they let a nobody just about beat them. Hopefully Fla State hangs a Maryland like beat down on them Saturday and we can see them plummet to more where they should be.
If we play like we did against Arkansas, then I like our chances for a beat down when we play them. That will sink the tiggers ship...
Those two losses and perhaps a 3rd one to Virginia Tech in the chump bowl would position them just about right when its all said and done.
Yea...I loathe Clemson. They've just always gotten more credit from their cupcake schedule than they should.
