Re: UGA meltdown
I will say UGA does have a beef with Grantham.
Their D hasn't been good since he got there, and he was supposed to be great.
I will also say they have missed on a slew of GA talent, and this year is no different.
Just looking at the rivals Top 20 from this year, nearly half are going elsewhere.
No. 1 QB Deshaun Watson-Clemson
No. 2 LB Korie Rogers-Clemson
No. 2 RB Adam Choice-Clemson
No. 3 RB Stanley Williams-Kentucky
No. 1 WR Demarre Kitt-Clemson
No. 3 LB Demarquis Gates-Ole Miss
No. 4 LB Kevin Muhon-Tenn
No. 1 TE Milan Richard-Clemson
No. 2 DE Justin Jones-NC State
No. 4 DB Kalvarez Bessent-Alabama
Granted, they are still in the hunt for No. 1 DE Lorenzo Carter, No. 1 LB Raekwon McMillan and No. 1 DT Elisha Shaw, and they have commits from No. 1 RB Nick Chubb, No. 1 DB Malcolm Parrish, No. 2 and 3 DTs Kendall Baker and Dontavius Russell and No. 1 OL Dyshon Sims.
But to me, there is no excuse for Georgia to miss on the No. 1 QB, WR and TE in its state. That might be way UGA is struggling, they aren't getting the top-tier talent in their state. They get great talent, but the best of the best are going to other programs.
Just look at last year.
No. 1 Nkemdiche-Ole Miss
No. 2 Lawson-Auburn
No. 3 Adams-Auburn
No. 4 Vonn Bell-Ohio State
No. 6 Alvin Kamara-Alabama
No. 7 Demarcus Robinson-Florida
No. 8 Tyren Jones-Alabama
No. 9 Trey Johnson-Ohio State
No. 10 Kelsey Griffin-USC
So last year, UGA got a commit from 1 out of the top 10 players in the state. ONE!
Add to it. Two out of the top 15 and four out of the top 20.
Their recuriting has been pathetic considering what has left their state.
