Australian in SC- 11/16
Hey all, this might be a bit of a long winded post so apologies in advance. Apologies if I've posted in the wrong area, mods feel free to move/delete if that's the case.
The name is Rory, a 25 year old sports and beer loving, guy from Adelaide, Australia and in 3 weeks time I leave for a trip across the US, back for my third time. I love the US, especially American football and the NFL, which I've been following for the best part of 12 years now. This time I decided I needed to get to the South as it's one part I haven't really explored and part of that is wanting to experience a traditional college game in the south. I did a bit of research and South Carolina seems like it has the best fans, best stadium and the football team isn't too bad either!
I'll be driving, leaving Dallas November 14 with all things going well arriving in Columbia on the morning of Saturday the 16th for the game against Florida. I'll be leaving for Charlotte the next day (Sunday) to catch the MNF game between Carolina and New England. Anyways, I managed to get accommodation after a lot of looking at the Clarion right over the road from the University so fingers crossed that's a decent spot in town.
So I've got a few questions I'm hoping people could answer-
What's the best section to get tickets? I know I'll have to pay overs on a site like stubhub but that doesn't bother me when I've come all this way. I'd prefer to sit around younger people, preferably those that attend the college and those that like to get a bit rowdy.
Are you allowed to enjoy a few brews inside the stadium?
When will the games starting time actually be announced?
Where are the best bars in town to head before and after the game?
What's the best way to get to Williams-Brice Stadium from downtown?
Any help would be really appreciated, and if anyone has any other advice they'd like to pass on that would be great.
Cya all at the game!
