It's harder for a team (or program) that's "never been there" to get there the first time than it is to stay or repeat.
Too bad the players bought into the pres-season hype instead of staying humble. Players were best overall ever at USC and the schedule set-up better than it has for a long, long time.
I've watched him for 25-years+ going back to the U.S.F.L. and if Coach Spurrier couldn't do it with this team, I don't see it happening . . . and I'd say this season (if they don't miraculously make it to Atlanta) and especially today's loss, will go a long way toward his sooner, rather than later, retirement.
