The special teams play was terrible, and that was only enhanced by consistently poor field position. Steve Spurrier did a.... well, words can not describe how poor his game management was today. All fingers point to him. Every game so far has shown that we are best with Mike Davis running through his choice of the holes that the offensive line opens up. Steve Spurrier did run the ball........away from that strategy. The two timeouts was the most irresponsible display of game management I have ever seen. To add to it, he still punted the ball away afterwards. You have to go for it in that situation when you have already paid such a high price. Overall, poor game management on offense lost this game for us.
As easy as it is right now to say we suck, we will never win the east again, we are doomed to fail every year, Spurrier will retire after this year, those are not facts, they are assumptions.
Is the East out of our reach? That is a assumption. Florida and Georgia lost today. The road to the east still goes through Columbia, MO. A win there would keep us in it, and Missouri still has Ole Miss and Texas A&M for their last two games of the year.
Is the East out of our reach? No. Will we win it with performances like today? Not a chance.
Those are facts, do with them what you please.
Today hurts. Not just now, but for future seasons as well. But the last thing we need is to start to give in.
Is the East out of our reach? Let your attitude dictate that for yourself.
But as for me, well..........Go, Fight, Win, Kick Ass.
I understand your optimism, but Spurrier is gone after this year. He has said time and time again he goes on his terms. He has given us 9 good years.
