P. Cooper: Wildcat or Punt returner?
I loved, loved, loved the idea of using him at the wildcat spot.
it relieved a RB in mike davis without a suitable back-up due to injuries.
it relieved connor shaw, who can't run it all the time.
it was genius.
but then... it disappeared in the UT game.
seems like they practiced him at special teams too much and ditched the idea of using him on offense.
he played alot of QB in highschool.
plus, teams have no idea when we are going to run the formation, and what sort of wrinkles we might throw in there to accompany it (shaw at wr? cooper pass, etc.)
which could create a mismatch... which you know spurrier loves.
seems like we could have really used the wildcat last week against UT with a stalling offense. however, we were working P. Cooper in as the return guy on Special Teams, so it seemed that was the main focus for him, and not offense.
special teams is obviously an issue, but with Shaw out this game we might need Cooper's services in the wildcat if that front 4 of Mizzou's is able to cause some havock.
what do you think?
my question is ....
do you want to see P. Cooper returning kicks/punts and working it out there or do you want to see him light it up at the wildcat
(obvious bias here)
