Spurrier's Patience down the stretch
This year I have been frustrated by some of Steve's borderline reckless decisions. Between running the same play on 4th down at the goal line at UGA, the horrible game management at the end of Tennessee, and going for it on 4th at the end of the first half at Mizzou, I have been wondering if he's getting too impatient.
In the 4th quarter and overtime last night, I thought he showed a lot of restraint. Not going for two in the overtime and at the end of the second half, not panicking and going for it when Fry had to hit a 40-yarder, and the clever play-calling at the end showed a lot of confidence that reminded me why he is such a great coach.
Now I'm not bashing the HBC, cus I love him, so don't crucify me. I'm just saying that he coached his best game of the season and one of the best quarters of his life last night, and hats off to him.
