Default Re: Vandy hires Derek Mason

I believe that the last two years were Morris' best chance of getting a decent HC job. This year was by all the stars and moon in line, the weak schedule, all the talent returning, Boyd coming back to win it all and the Heisman! Dabo telling everyone that Clemson had arrived and was elite FB team, ranting about how great his players were (same thing he is doing now) and how they could win the NC.
Then he stepped out of the weaker ACC and fell flat on his face with FSU and Carolina. Played a suspect Ohio State team that played about as weak schedule as Clemson. Ohio State was exposed in their last two games too.
Morris had at least the records of Boyd (although set by the weak schedule) and Sammie Watson and 11 win season again to go on his resume.....but nobody wanted him again this year! They will have trouble winning 9 games next year without Boyd and Watson and Morris' resume will take a nose dive from this year. He may end up like a lot of coaches that have a few good seasons and then you never hear their name again.
Look at the coaches that when their teams were playing in the top 10 for a few years and then started down hill, they were no longer mentioned when other jobs came open.
Morris may be stuck at Clemson until Dabo is fired and if that is the case, they will bring in a new HC and usually they clean house of the asst. coaches.
