Your post brings up a good point about causation...
Sure, its not the individual doing the praying that is causing the healing (assuming we're in agreement about prayer for healing)
But even once we recognize that it is God doing the healing, and not the person uttering the prayer...the next logical step would be to ask; was the prayer necessary
for that intervention (the healing) to occur?
I recognize that is not an answer we can know definitively, but I believe it is worth contemplating.
