Perry Orth is just a steady, nothing flashy, good solid QB who reminds
me of Dylan Thompson as a freshman. When you first saw him, you'd
think "He'll make a good holder for our field goal kicker". ... Then the following
year, his mechanics were a little better, little more "Zip" on his throws, and
better footwork. THEN ... he exploded.
Orth has a strong arm, and good footwork. He's not the most accurate
passer, but he hasn't thrown any picks and when he finds a guy open,
he gets it there quick. Not a Connor Shaw, but can move a little bit
when the pressure is on him and create more time with his mobility.
I can see why Spurrier has moved him up the depth chart. Even if it's
just for getting the guys fired up some, I think Orth's efforts are getting
him noticed by The Ole Ball Coach.
