For those who don't care about golf, this is not for you.
This was the fourth year that I have been a Masters patron. I was on the waiting list for ten years. I had attended several practice rounds and par three tournaments over the years. If you ever get a chance to go on Wednesday, plant yourself between the 8th and 9th holes during the par 3.
I give my badges away to friends and family from Thursday through Saturday.
My 23 year-old son and I attend on Sunday.
It's the best quality time we spend all year. We have a great time. This year was no different. I only live 90 minutes away from Augusta so getting there is no problem.
The purpose of this post is to say that in my short experience in attending this tournament, I have never seen such a sight at the 15th as I did Sunday when the leaders approached the green.
I was in the stands overlooking the green. The entire galleries had, of course, abandoned the previous holes, and gathered along and around the 15th.
There was probably 40,000 people standing and sitting at this location and you could have heard a pin drop while the guys were putting and chipping.
All you can hear are birds singing.
It's too surreal to even describe.
