Makes sense to me. I think playing the numbers game and getting as many players from the draft (especially in early rounds) is your best bet if you have the option.
For example, I think it is borderline insane to take a QB early in this draft when you could easily reap the same talent (either way, it's a gamble) by waiting later and grabbing McCarron, Murray, Mettenburger, or the others projected at 3-5 rounds.
Now...only difference in THIS year's draft is the person you are passing on is Jadeveon Clowney, a once in a generation player. Also a player than can make an impact immediately and isn't a huge gamble like position players at QB/RB/WR. Rarely anyone regrets grabbing a OL/DL early.
