The State paper has an article about So Cal winning the right to have the SC logo. Their lawyer called the Gamecock a "goofy little chicken". Man, that pisses me off. Just because you are a prejudice west coast snob doesn't mean you have to act like it. Southerns get a bad rap about being so ignorant and backwoods, while other areas are seen as so intellectual. The real USC would never let our lawyers smack talk another university. I'm posting via my phone, which has trouble attaching links, but someone can attach it if you would like. God, I'm so glad they got LK as their coach. We all know how it's going to end.

We got some support over on Soonerfans.com
Been talking to them about this today. They think it's
rediculous that So Cal can get away with owning an
interlocking SC like that even with the font and design
being so totally different. They posted some examples
of stuff that was a lot closer in designs and were
copyrighted by both schools without that kind of
legal issues between them. One was the Alabama
Old English type A, and the Arkansas A. Both are
very similar, but both schools have no issue with it.
They said it was total BS for a school to push that
in court.

Yeah Texas and UT also like to use a very similar looking "power T" but I had heard the 2 schools worked something out to where both can use them.

Mr. Edelman,

I am a student at the University of South Carolina. I do not appreciate your comments about our school or our logos. I understand you have a job to do, but don't belittle the University of South Carolina in the process. Furthermore, leave our logos alone. I don't think anyone has a problem distinguishing between SoCal's logo and our logo. Again, I understand you have a job to do, but please show some class.

While i agree with most of you all that So Cal should not be allowed to lock that up, i also have to wonder why you would want to be called SC. USC is one of if not the best football program in America(which means the world.) As long as yall keep fighting to be called "SC" its an up hill battle. Instead jus come up with a new nick name and get out from under a program that would showdow mosst college football programs

I am assuming the images with an actual gamecock on them are not in question.

We have so many variations that I have seen.

Does any of this affect our helmets or uniforms?

Bear in mind that this mostlikely took place in the Ninth Circuit, the most overturned circuit in the US appellate system. If the USSC accepts the case it should get overturned.
