You can download the official SC BBQ trail map here: http://bbq.discoversouthcarolina.com/. Lots of nice BBQ day trips!

I'll put in a vote for Little Pigs. I prefer their tangier mustard-base to the usual sweeter Carolina Gold.

OT, and will probably get flamed, but IMO Carolina Smokehouse in Cashiers, NC and Southern Soul in Saint Simon's Island, GA are far superior to anything I've had in the Palmetto State.

I eat at Carolina Smokehouse every summer. Very good cue but I will take Bucky's in Greenville (with extra bark and Cajun beans) any day of the week.

    Just my $.02

You will get flamed for saying little pigs is your favorite. Nobody probably read past that.

This is a hard question, so much good BBQ in SC. In Columbia I'd have to say Doc's is my favorite. Charleston is trickier for traditional BBQ Swig and Swine or Southern Roots are my go to spots and if I'm feeling like some non traditional dishes (BBQ wrap comes to mind) Home Team BBQ is my go to.

When Lewis BBQ opens in Charleston it's going to be outrageous... The pork isn't really any better than most places, but the brisket... oh the brisket... it's out of this world! I'll always call it BBQ'd brisket (only thing that can be called just plain 'barbeque' to me is pork), but man, I am now a true believer...

EDIT: John Lewis is a big-time pitmaster from Austin, TX... been doing pop-ups at local breweries in Charleston for the last few years and built quite a following...

I have eaten at many places from Rock Hill to the Low Country and Carolina BBQ in New Ellenton, SC is as good as it gets. I have not eaten BBQ in Western part of the state - Greenville, Spatanburg, and other parts up that way, so I will have to be honest about that part of the state.
I have not tried all these places you guys name, but will have to. I have been to this place, though, and I agree the BBQ has a nice smoke to it. They have several sauces, and their sides were very good. I liked the cole slaw and the fried squash. The hush puppies were marvelous.

The Smoking Pig in Pendleton is pretty darn good. Their BBQ is good but their brisket is awesome.

Southern Belly BBQ, I've heard they are amazing.

I'm a fan on the Piggy Park's buffet. Much cheaper than the drive through.

Shealy's is a great weekend family outing.

I live in Cayce, so Hite's is a good pick up on a Friday or Saturday.

Best BBQ I've had recently was in Oklahoma, I hate to say it.

Curious. How does he do his brisky? Is it traditional Texas brisky, i.e., salt pepper maybe some garlic powder? Or is it sauced with a sticky/sweet/savory sauce? I'm extremely partial to true Texas brisky, and that's the only way I prepare brisky, hence why I was asking.

They are really good, but they only sell sandwiches, so does that count as a BBQ place?

not in sc, but if you are ever in the boone/banner elk area check out The Pedalin' Pig they have a location in both areas and while I won't say its the best I've ever had, it is VERY good.
