I assume that you are talking about the Roundball Tournament? They looked good in that one - it had some really strong out of state teams competing, and it is unusual for a local team to win either bracket. P-G did.

P-G gets some of the best local talent - they get tuition help at P-G based on a need basis. As in, financial need for the player and athletic talent need for the basketball team. But it is a well-coached and well-run team.

Khris Middleton is having a nice career in the NBA right now, then you have Nesmith and James.

In the Charleston area, we have already breached the Fort, now we need to trans-Port from Porter(-Gaud).

2.|*Juwan Gary, 6'6" SF, Gray Collegiate:*Gary is an alumnus of Future150's Elite24 Camp, and ever since the staff saw him in August of 2014, we knew that he had star potential written all over him. He is a freak athlete, an extremely hard worker on the glass, as well as on the defensive end. He has vastly improved his jumper over the past year and is becoming more and more of a three-level scoring threat. He currently sports offers from Clemson, East Carolina, UNLV, and Western Kentucky. Expect that offer list to grow rapidly during the upcoming AAU season.*

3.|*Josiah James, 6'6" PG, Porter-Gaud:*James put himself on the map this past summer after having a breakout AAU season with TMP Elite. At 6'6", he can control the tempo of the game, make crisp, accurate passes, and knock down shots from all over the floor. It would be nice to see him add a bit more bulk to his frame, but the ceiling for the Charleston product is ridiculous. He currently holds offers from Clemson, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, and Texas A&M among others. It will be very interesting to see his growth and how much better he gets before he continues his career at the collegiate level.*

4.|*D.J. Burns, 6'9" PF, York Prep:*Arguably the best big man in the state regardless of class. A massive space eater down low at 6'9", 240 pounds, he has great footwork and loves to bully smaller, weaker defenders. He has no problem finishing above the rim and has become more effective on offense being able to knock down short jumpers when the defense is doubling him or packing the lane against him. Burns currently holds offers from Georgia, Georgia Tech, LSU, Tennessee, and Virginia Tech, to name a few.*
At the moment, we seem to be near the top of each players list. It appears the staff is recruiting all three very seriously.

That would make one heck of a in-state haul in one year.

The information you linked doesn't indicate that we are near the top for each player.

Hope we do bring in some talent though.

If you do like most of us do and look at their recruiting info, you will see we are very much involved with all three.

And just in the past few days...6-6 Juwan Gary of Gray Collegiate told TheBigSpur Friday night after his team’s state championship victory his top schools are USC, Maryland, Connecticut, Virginia Tech and Virginia.

Realistically we'll probably just get 1 of them.

I merely stated from the info that you posted didn't even mention Carolina.

That info was from my original post in the thread. I was just using it as a reference source. While that was from a year ago, we have offered them all and appear to be in good standing with each one. I doubt very seriously if we can land more than one or two of them. Hopefully J. James is one of them, followed by Gary then Burns, in order of personal preference.

Right now we have no idea how many players we can take for the 2019 class. Let alone in-state players.

Sounds great, hope we can close the deal with them as this would be a great class.

I've heard we lead for Malcolm Wilson too, but that is second hand. If Frank signed all of those guys it would be a lot of fun to watch them play together.

Burns is a top 150 player and James and Gary are top 25 players.

    We still need a PG.

If he has not fixed recruiting for next year (2019) then things get dicey for him the following year.

I like the way things are shaping up for next year. Could be the Second Coming of the Fab Five - all with in-state players,

On the PG thing - rhere us a PG in the 2019 class - a PG fron PG, Porter Gaud. Josiah James is a PG. 6'6", but still a PG.

Frank needs to show improvement from this year to next. But what he did last year should keep things from getting dicey for a while - especially if he brings is a killer class with local players next year.

James is listed as a CG. (combo-guard) I watched some of his film a few minutes ago and while he handles the ball and passes well he is a big strong kid with a good shooting range. I think he will play the wing a lot in college. We desperately need a true PG.

Aaron Nesmith is a good looking prospect for Porter Gaud too.

Correct. Nesmith is a Senior, James is a Junior. James may not be a PG at the next level but he is a pass first guy in HS and het a lot of assists.
