Itís sad he has to do that. All fear should be put to rest in a few weeks when he actually signs and then a few weeks later when is an actual student-athlete at South Carolina!!

Well, I guess this answers the question from Muschamp's presser about who the Mystery Recruit who's signing his financial aide papers this week...

Hilinski, by the way, will be signing his financial aid papers with the Gamecocks Wednesday afternoon.

You can sign financial agreement papers at anytime. That is not the same as the early signing period.

Financial agreements are different than LOIs. Hilinski is signing his financial papers with the university today. The LOI is at a later date, but signing his financial docs is just as good because Muschamp will be able to publicly comment on Hilinski.

Coaches can have unlimited contact with him now and speak publically about his commitment.

Named National Player of the year by Touchdown Club of Columbus

Orange Lutheran quarterback Ryan Hilinski, who concluded his high school career with nearly 8,000 passing yards and 85 total touchdowns, has been selected to receive the prestigious 2018 Sam B. Nicola Award presented annually by the Touchdown Club of Columbus (Ohio). The award, named for the Clubís founder, the late Sam B. Nicola, is presented to the National High School Football Player of the Year. Past winners include Emmitt Smith, Joe Mauer, and current Arizona Cardinals quarterback Josh Rosen. Hilinski has already scheduled early enrollment to continue his student-athlete experience at the University of South Carolina.

Despite a depleted receiving corps consisting of several freshmen and a non-existent ground game, Ryan led the Lancers into the postseason playoffs while passing for 2,771 yards and 29 touchdowns. The 6'4", 220 pound senior is already prepped for the next level having faced five of the top ten nationally ranked high school teams.

Now that is what what you call elite! He’s gotten nearly every accolade imaginable at this point, aside from that elusive 5th star. Not that it REALLY matters...but it would be cool to see one of the sites step up and tick that final box.

Moore is ready to commit to South Carolina? I know Penn State was pursuing him aggressively as well.

    From the article:

"But Ryan was almost 18 years old and one of the best high school quarterbacks in the country. ESPN would name him the top pro-style quarterback in the class of 2019. More than 30 colleges would offer him full scholarships, including blue bloods like Georgia, Ohio State and Louisiana State, and his childhood dream school, Stanford. He had worked too long and accomplished too much for them to take this away from him now."

Wish the NYT would have mentioned that he instead choose to enroll at South Carolina for the Spring semester.

The New York Times hates us.
