Olenchuk just carving up the Hanna defense. 31-20 DF at 5:08 in the 3rd.

And another DF fumble return.for a TD! Foxes up 45-20.

And a bad punt snap makes it DF 52-20.

And then another Hanna fumble, the 6th of the half.

This score is not indicative of the way this game was going. Hate it for Hanna.

Dutch Fork is the real deal. Too many turnovers for Hanna, along with not having the secondary to face that passing attack is the difference.

Clint is right. Hate to see the score get that way. DF is clearly the best team in the state.

That should secure a Top 20 national ranking for the Foxes. Hanna was just too 1 dimensional offensively (they only had 13 points on offense) and didn't have the defense to hang with DF. I'll tell you one good thing about them, though: Zacch is the real deal. I can't wait for him to be Gamecock.

Hanna one dimensional because they run Wing T...plus I don't think them being able to pass would have made a difference.

But you are right, they did not have the back 7 to hang with DF, except Zacch.

I would like to have seen how it would have played out had Hanna scored from 1st and goal at the 1. Would've been a 4 point game to start the 4th quarter.

Here's the thing - people forget how dominant DFs defense has been this year because there's been so much focus on the offense. This was the first time we were pushed since we were usually up by 30-40 points at half, but I leaned over to my buddy at halftime and said that we would do better in the second half as they picked up on Hanna's scheme. And, they did, even putting all of the fumbles aside. Beyond that, once we got up two scores, there was no way Hanna could score often enough and quick enough because they're so 1-dimensional. The turning point was definitely the goal line stand and 14 point swing, and the game did get out of hand due to all of the Hanna miscues, but I still think DF wins going away in the 4th.

One other thing - Champ needs to bring in some of the Silver Fox DBs to show our guys how to hit and wrap up; they were great in the open field.

Geo, do you think we eventually offer Jaylin Hyatt? He obviously needs to bulk up some but he has top level athleticism.

I've been wondering, but even if we do, my impression is that we'd have ground to make up now. He's got the height and, as you said, needs to bulk up, but that isn't necessarily a problem. Otherwise, he has great hands and can be electric with the ball, and 4.4ish speed is great. Paired with Gage Zirke, who just dominated the Hanna secondary, they were great to watch this year. I'm interested to see whether his stock goes up over the next year (currently an 87 from 247) and whether Champ jumps on board.

In a battle of unbeatens in the 2A championship at Benedict, Abbeville dominated Barnwell 48-14 to win their 4th-straight 2A title.

The Panthers finished at 14-0 for the year and have only lost 3 games since 2015.

In the 3A championship game, undefeated Chester defeated Dillon 34-28 to claim its first title since 1963.

I caught the 4th quarter of Chester-Dillon while waiting for the 5A game; what a crazy final few minutes. Congrats to all the championship teams on great seasons.

    Predictions for champs:

    5A-Dutch Fork...not even close.
    4A...Hartsville
    3A...Dillon
    2A...Abbeville
    1A...Green-Sea Floyds
    I missed the 3A and 4A prediction

Seems like Dutch Fork has been kind of skimpy on prospects. I kind of expected Knott to churn out players somewhat like he did at independence.

I think they have a good bit of college prospects...they are just small college guys.
People forget how good guys at the FCS and D2 are compared to the average high school player.
Also, having guys buy into a program and mindset can't be understated.
Good coaches live and die with talent...great coaches get the best out of the talent they have and hide any deficiencies. Knotts is a great coach.
