Default Might as well start talking Vandy

    Nothing else to do.

I'll admit I haven't seen Vandy so far this year. They've cruised to a couple easy wins over MTSU (7-6 last year) and Nevada (3-9 last year). Held each to under 300 yards total offense. Shurmur is an experienced, smart SEC QB. He threw a ton on us last year (49 attempts) and they put up good yardage on our D (440 total yards). This is his 3rd full season starting, so we're not gonna rattle him. So far this year he's 33/49, 4 TDs, 0 int, 428 yards.

Bentley was pedestrian through the air last year (19/29, 174 yds, 1 TD) but made some big plays with his legs.

Probably shaping up to be a fairly close game again. Always hope we come out of the "bye" looking fresh, but I expect we'll see some rust.

I predict a 63-7 loss and all Gamecock fans to lose their sanity midway through the first drive.

Kentucky plays Miss State next week. Will be watching that one closely along with our game. I feel like we should beat Vandy by 10-14. If we bounce back with hunger, we could pull away and win easily.

Miss State v Kentucky will be telling.

Its gonna be a dogfight as usual with them. I think our WRs make a few big plays and we win it something like 28-24.

It will be interesting to watch vandy this week, I would feel really good if we can get some ground game going and hold them under 100ish yards on the ground.

    WINNING

As easy as playing a Big 10 Team.

With the cancellation of the Marshall game early, did that give us several more days with film and the team to prepare for Vandy or did they have to cancel practice last week like USC did with classes?

I dont think we can overstate just how critical these next 2 weeks are. Being 1-1 instead of 2-1.....just for momentum of the program, a loss to either Vandy or UK would put us at 2-2 and with either a dreaded loss to Vandy or a previously unthinkable 0-5 losing streak to friggin Kentucky....with a midseason run vs Missouri, A&M, Tennessee, Ole Miss and Florida, all 5 of which are 50/50 tossups. Say we get 3 of those....we’d be 5-4 going into UTC and Clemson. 6-5. Ugh.

But sweep VU/UK and get some momentum at 3-1....win 3/5 midseason at 6-3....7-4 finish...maybe a makeup game win Dec 1. 8-4.

Vandy and UK makes or breaks the season honestly.

**I wont speak of what happens if we go 0-2 vs. Vandy/UK. Not happening **

At this point. 0-2 looks at least as likely as 2-0, if not more likely. Most likely we go 1-1. At least I hope.

Vandy not looking terrible against ND. ND is over-rated all the time though, that is the question in this game.

Vandy will be tough, but I think we'll be ready for them.

Hopefully both Vandy and UK are overlooking us and don’t come with their best.

Is Notre Dame the #8 team? No
Is Vandy going to be a tough game? Yes. It always is.

Shurmur can sling it. We all know that. We knew that last year. It should be a good game. I like that our team is already preparing for them. I think they’ll be ready to get back on the field.

A loss to Vandy on the road wouldn't be catastrophic. We can still win 5.

ND is over rated every year.
