Steeplechase and Salud are within a block from each other downtown.

Anchor Bar in Buffalo was the 1st. Been there and highly overrated.
Hot Take: A guy juicing is a guy committed to giving the team his best, even at the expense of his health.

I have patronized that place since the early 80's and Linda has been there the entire time. I have never had a complaint regarding service or quality. She is steady and reliable imo.

Yeah I could believe they were the first in SC. This guy claims they were the first period, though.

If they were they would call them Camden wings - Not Buffalo wings.

Anchor bar in buffalo is what I've always heard.
    Beware the BOOM.

Yeah I know the story pretty well. Circa 1964, the bartender needed to feed some hungry patrons late in the evening. There was nothing left except chicken wings, which were usually reserved for the stock pot or discarded. She fries them up and tosses them in sauce.

I'm not even convinced that story is 100% true, but the one this guy tells is pretty out there. He claims that Leo's, which was opened in the late 70s, was where it all started. He also says that they first called them pizza wings and that they were tossed in marinara sauce instead of hot sauce & butter.

Like I said before. When he goes off on that tangent, I just keep my mouth shut. He's so convinced of that crock of shit that any argument would be futile. Other than that and a few other eccentricities, he's really a good person.

Also is there any place to stay, other than a Comfort Inn. Should I look outside Camden and consider the outskirts of Columbia?
Been a long time since I've been back there so not many places I could recommend now. NE Columbia does have some good places (where my parents live now) and isn't too far of a drive from Camden.

However, I was born in that hospital and my grandfather worked there for a number of years. Hospital was down the street from my grandparents' house.
