Imagine where we would be right now if this transfer would’ve been allowed to take place. On plus side Grier to Debo or Edwards would be electric. Down side is maybe Kurt roper stays. Regardless love Jake but having Grier meant we could have also tried to develop both Jack and Bmac while WG starts.

Also saw something that said had Grier not gotten hurt at Florida that Muschamp believes he would still be the Head Coach at Florida.

Grier tested positive for PEDs in 2015 after Muschamp had been fired.
A few months later McElwain told him to leave

Maybe you should tell Muschamp he is full of crap then.

Grier is a legit QB, but there's no telling how he'd positively impact the 2014 season at Florida as a true freshman, which ultimately ended up 7-5 and was Muschamp's final season at UF. They had two close losses to USC (23-20) and FSU (24-19) which were the only 2 losses in the last half of their season.

Grier got injured because apparently he tried to do too much in the weight room, and hurt his back. The gossip on UF forums was he was too thin and underdeveloped, and he rushed himself too hard. In keeping with this theory, when he recovered from his injury, he resumed his efforts to build up his body, which resulted in him buying some protein supplement at a local GNC store, which contained the banned substance that got him suspended.

So I guess had Muschamp stayed for 2015, then Grier would've gotten UF off to the great start they had under McElwain. Maybe - maybe not - Grier would've gotten suspended anyways, but certainly Muschamp wouldn't have run him off like McElwain did. Again the talk on those forums have said that the UF S&C program was a clown show under McElwain, with players working with personal trainers not associated with the program, in order to find ANY way to develop.

Perhaps that was why Grier went out and brought junk at a GNC store, and failed to report the stuff to the UF trainers. Under Muschamp's (and Dillman's) S&C program at UF, perhaps Grier never takes that substance to begin with. Who knows....

Either way, it's all a moot point now, and Muschamp is with us, and Grier is with WVU. And UF is still looking for a QB......

He was injured in preseason workouts the Summer he enrolled after HS.

Muschamp had to redshirt him his freshman year because of the injury, he'd planned on playing him as a true freshman.

Injuries are what doomed Champ at UF. I do think if a couple of key guys hadn't been hurt Champ would still be at UF, and he would've built a great team. He left a very good defense when they fired him, and if you do some checking a lot of UF people now regret cutting him loose.
