Default 4K flat screen "rollable" tv

This is pretty crazy. Its like a dam yoga mat or something

Indeed, as the flexible 65-inch screen slides into the base, it appears to curl up like a rolled poster. Wild. Viewers can choose to hide the screen altogether or put it in “line mode,” which keeps 1/4th of the screen visible as a control panel for other smart gadgets like speakers or to display on-screen information like music tracks and time.

I don’t like the idea of having to wait for my tv to roll out before I can stream pornhub.

I don't worry about falling skies as much as I worry about low ceilings.

    Why?

They say unless you have a huge screen like 70” you can barely see a difference between HD and 4K. What’s the point of 8K? Other then to sell you another TV?

Honestly, I think it's more about selling cameras than TV's.

Honestly for that size and price (never saw one listed so I'm running on assumption) you could buy a 4k HDR projector, high end acoustically transparent screen and speakers to go behind it. It would look just as good and sound 100X better.

The same reason people tripped over themselves to buy 4k tv's when most broadcast stations were still in 720p.

My brother in law worked on their booth for the CES show this past year. It's insane...

Not even close, even the best TVs today don't fully cover the rec 2020 spectrum and HDR is still maturing with Dynamic HDR e.g. Dolby Vison and HDR 10+. The ideal panel would be around 4000-5000 nit brightness with HDR content with 12-bit color. Mini and Micro LED are emerging and OLED still has plenty left in the tank to get us there once they get a handle on vignetting and burn-in, but yes for the time being they are throwing around some crazy prototypes to appease the 1% crowd.

They have 8K now to. But hell 4K still isn't around that much. Much less making 8K TVs.
