    Default 2019 NBA playoffs

already 4 games into the 2nd round
    raptors sixers tied 2-2
    blazers nuggets tied 2-2
    warriors rockets tied 2-2
    bucks lead celtics 3-1

some wrote off the bucks after they lost game 1 at home, but since then led by giannis they've imposed their will (generic compliment) and kyrie has shot terrible. multiple long series with close games that i cant recall seeing during an nba playoffs recently. good matchups between good teams who are all battling, cept for the celtics.

This round has been very entertaining
Also adding IMO make the first round best of 5 again
wont ever happen but from a fan standpoint I’d rather that
GeoCocky was right, GSW did not beat the Bucks in 5 in the finals

Blazers-Nuggets series is potentially historically good.. so far all 4 games have been great to watch, with the highlight being that 4OT. Only issue are the extremely inconsistent refs. Jokic needs to stop pushing off as well, but other than that amazing series!

Also maybe it was just me but the Houston crowd didn’t seem very loud or riled up last night. Anyone else share this thought?

I don’t hate GS as much, it’s just Curry.
easily the most hated player in the league for me

It’s a common thought/joke on social media that the Rockets crowd usually sucks

i jinxed the playoffs, i make this thread and we get two blowouts. what a turnaround in the raptors sixers series, kawhi was playing historically good to just keep his team competitive and the sixers starting lineup looked like it might truly be the best in the league which was too much firepower for kawhi and siakam after 3 games to handle alone. the raptors bench and the trio of lowry, green, gasol getting thoroughly outplayed by their counterparts on the sixers through 3 games was a recipe for a short series. kawhi needed them to at least give him some support, in game 4 both of those raptors groups outscored the opposing group and in game 5 they completely dominated the opposing group.

If Houston can’t beat GS (I still think GS wins) then I don’t see any other team having the fore power to take them down this year. At least Durant/Curry/Thompson will most likely break up this year. Iguodala will probably retire (he’s a lot of fun to watch) and so the GS dynasty might be on its way out.

I think so many people are talking that KD leaves, that he ends up staying
I only say that because I’m a gamecock fan so bad luck seems to follow me.
So what I want in sports, the opposite will happen

Thompson is on Fire (2/3 from 3 in the 1st are) and Houston is missing open 3s and being out hustled. The Rockets need to tighten up their defense if they want to stay in this game and have a chance to win.

Rockets have to be deflated after losing that game with Durant going down.

Not surprised that the Bucks won, but wasn't expecting a blowout like that.

Don't be too surprised. The Bucks had the best record in the NBA and this season's soon-to-be MVP, while Boston was a mediocre, overrated mess. ESPN just had an interesting story on Kyrie and the Celtics meltdown (http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/2...ailed-season); it's a useful contrast with the Bucks, where they did just about everything right, even with a key injury down the stretch.

It’s because the exact same Boston team as last year without Kyrie and Heyward got to game 7 of the ECF last year

also the regular season accomplishments are only significant for seeding anyway.
Lebron was the 4 seed last year and won the east last year

Toronto was the one and was knocked out in the second round

Meh - I'm more worried about this year than last year. Read the article that I posted about the dysfunctions of the Celtics; it's enlightening. BTW - over the final 28 games of the season, the Celtics were 0.500. You can trivialize the Bucks accomplishments, but they were the best team in the regular season, have the best player in the NBA this year, and have been playing great ball down the stretch, even with Brogdon out. They are entertaining to watch, not only because of Giannis, but because of the way that they play as a team. That's not saying they'll win the East (though I think they do), but it's not just for seedings. Since the NBA playoffs expanded to 16 teams, more than half of the teams to reach the Finals were 1-seeds and more than 80% were seeded 1 or 2; less than 10% of the finalists were seeded fourth or lower. I'll take the odds.

I think the Bucks were the best team by record only, the best team is still the Warriors this year IMO and it will show as they win the title again

Like I said, wasn't surprised the Bucks won. I expected Boston, even with the dysfunctionality, to show a little more fight in an elimination game.
