Don't have a name yet! If someone beats me to the goods fill us all in!

6'9" 235# forward from Tenn Tech! Has a degree in finance! Seems to be a rebounder and rim protector! Micah Henry is the name

I felt Frank would try to get either a grad transfer or someone who can play next season. He wants a full roster especially after having two slots unavailable to play this past season combined with all the injuries. I don't think he wants a transfer who has to sit out next season.

Not a good FT shooter. Hopefully the rest of his game is good.

Averaged 9.7 ppg, 4.7 rpg, and 1.8 bpg at about 25 minutes per game. Looks like he could be a veteran post presence that we could use. Tennessee Tech played 4 games against major competition (if we're counting teams from the American as major) and was up and down in them. Good games against Memphis and UNC. So-so games against Michigan State and Tennessee (although looking at the scores, the whole team didn't show up in those games).

without watching any film beyond a short high school tape on him and his college stats, hes a big body who can finish around the rim and block shots which already would give him a chance to start. poor ft shooter and only 1 attempt from 3 for his career. he's not silva obviously but he would provide a better paint presence than our returning veteran bigs. if he comes aboard or not, we need kotsar and frink to be able to take and make jump shots.

Definitely a plus if he plays good ball screen defense, since that's been the biggest problem with the bigs for us over the years.

I'm glad he's looking towards getting a big who can play immediately rather than go after Woods. I saw some Tennessee Tech highlights and I saw him dunk a few times and play through contact. So I would gladly welcome the addition. Although I do worry about the potential tandem of Kotsar/Henry being a liability at the free throw line.

I'm dreading that FT% but hoping for the best from this guy.

edit: 1.7 blocks per game with 25 minutes played? Is my math right? That's pretty damn good.

Lol have Henry and Kotsar shoot 200 free throws and whoever misses more runs suicides!

Yes, the FT misses are a big concern and can cost us games. I don't think Frank will bring in a player like Woods who has to sit out a year. We got bit big time this past season with two sitting out. Frank wants a full SS roster plus walk ons.

We're trying to add post depth to the roster, not remove it.....

Really, this is the best we can do? A Tennessee Tech player?

He fits what is missing from the team though. We don't have a rim protector.

We aren't going to be asking the guy to score. He just needs to be an enforcer on defense and rebound which he is clearly capable of doing.

Yes. Impact transfer players aren’t breaking the doors down to come play Frank’s style and especially with the surrounding talent. He fills a gap the best we manage.

Exactly, there isn't exactly too many great immediate options left at either the PF or Center positions. The great players that are left like Blackshear is likely going to an established basketball school. So I don't see the issue with giving him a shot, better than wasting a scholarship on no one.

I guess I can see that ... and maybe our coaches can teach him a few things to help. As someone else said, it's better than having no one.

There is no reason a guy who is the same exact height and weight of Chris Silva shouldn't be scoring. Yes, rebounding and rim protection are pressing issues that he addresses, but if Frank wants to start staving off criticism and take this program on the upswing, we need our offense to be more than a 3-point shooting threat.

Priority number one for Frank this offseason should be coaching this kid up to draw fouls and practice free-throws. He won't be as good as Silva, but defenses need to at least respect his presence on offense.
    Do ya thing
