Unfortunately, someone is better than no one HAS been our philosophy. Top to bottom, this is our most talented roster under Frank Martin. I expect to see some results.

Some day we may even be able to beat the taters again.

I also think this is Frank's most talented roster. If we can avoid the injury bug and get decent post play we should do well.

This past season Clemson started four 5 year seniors. It is hard to beat any team with that much experience. At the same time we had 2 SS players who were not eligible to play plus injuries to our understaffed team. I think the odds are heavily in our favor to win this year.

Agreed, when comparing his stats to our team this past season, Henry would be tied for 2nd most rebounds when only consideringng players that played the whole season. he would be the 4th leading scorer and only a tenth shy at tying Silva at blocks made game.

It would be he if played in the SEC or a big conference but as a low major player....

I'm a bit more hopeful....his strengths at his previous stop were skills that our team is in dire need of filling, and improving on. We don't need him to be much of a scorer, but we NEED rim protection and rebounds, and just an overall improved presence in the paint. He brings those skills to the table, so I say welcome Miciah!!

I'm with you. Tenn Tech plays in a FAR inferior conference...this is NOT one of the mid-major groups that can run with anybody. TT also finished 8-23 overall and 4-14 in conference. When they did play the big boys they got understandably ragdolled...UNC...108-58...Mich. St...101-33...Tenn...96-53. He is a great kid...smart...majoring in Finance. He will work hard and he will understand what is being asked of him. He will NOT be some kind of Silva replacement but he is better than not having a kid with good size and experience.

I'll support him and love him like family but I'm concerned about him coming from a really bad team from a really weak conference to a not very good Gamecock team not having much of an impact.

    Hopefully I'm wrong

We needed another post player. Just rebound, rim protect and block shots and he will earn his keep. I think he will be a role type player. He will add experience and will probably help our younger guys. Welcome to USC.

The Ohio Valley is a mid-major, not low major, conference.

The OVC got two teams in the NCAA last year (low majors get the one automatic bid) and had a strong case for a 3rd team. They went 2-2 in the tournament. One of their teams had a better player from SC than we did - Murray State with future high NBA pick Ja Morant.

We pick up some bulk, shot-blocking ability, experience - and 5 fouls to give. Solid pick-up even if he can't beat out Kotsar/Leveque for the starting job. The FT percentage is a concern but he shoots well over 50% from the floor and is a good offensive rebounder.

He will be on a team with a better supporting cast than TT. He may turn out to be a decent post player for us if our outside shooting keeps teams from collapsing the middle.
